Support
Thanks for using Temp Viewer. We are here to help.
Where to find the app
Temp Viewer is a menu bar–only app. It does not show a Dock icon or open a main window. After you launch it, look for a thermometer icon near the clock on the right side of the menu bar. Click that icon to open the menu.
Requirements: macOS 14 or later.

Common topics
- Installation: When the Mac App Store listing is available, install from there. For a direct installer, open the disk image and drag Temp Viewer into the Applications folder, then open it from Applications.
- I don’t see the app: Check the menu bar for the thermometer (not the Dock). If it’s missing, open Temp Viewer from Applications again. On some Macs you may need to reveal hidden menu bar icons.
- Notifications: In the Temp Viewer menu, turn on Notify on temperature changes. If banners don’t appear, open System Settings → Notifications → Temp Viewer and allow notifications. You can also use Open Notifications Settings… in the app menu when permission was denied.
- Start at Login: Turn on Start at Login in the Temp Viewer menu. macOS may ask you to approve the item under System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions. Use Open Login Items Settings… in the app if approval is still needed.
- What the icon means: The thermometer color and fill reflect your Mac’s thermal (heat) status—cooler through warmer levels as the system reports them.
- Privacy & Support links: Privacy Policy… and Support… in the app menu open these pages in your default browser.
- Updates: When Temp Viewer is on the Mac App Store, update from there. Otherwise install the latest build you were given (for example a new disk image) over the previous copy in Applications.
